We want to thank absolutely everyone who had a part in Michele Israel Harper’s launch for her new book, Kill the Beast.

First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who participated in her blog tour!

Blog Tour schedule:

Thank you Fiction Aficionado for mentioning Kill the Beast in your Weekend Book Buzz. And thank you Indie Book Magic for including Kill the Beast on your podcast.

And then we simply must thank everyone who shared what they thought of this new book on Goodreads, Amazon, or any other review site. We are so thankful for you! And we’re so glad you’re enjoying it so much.

So many lovely graphics and photographs of both Beast Hunter and Kill the Beast have been shared on social media. Please know we’ve worked hard to retweet, share, or repost each one. Thank you so much!

And to anyone else who promoted Kill the Beast in any way, including telling your friends about it, thank you. We could not have had such a successful launch without you.

We had such a good turnout for Michele Israel Harper’s Facebook launch party. Thank you for celebrating this new release with us!

Harper estimates that she sent roughly 60 ebooks (30 of those were two 15-book series) and mailed 15 packages after the party, and Facebook’s stats say 51 attended the online party. Wow! Again, thank you!

And we simply must thank Laura A. Grace for cohosting and Jebraun Clifford for making the lovely graphics.

It was such a fun night!

The book signing was a smashing success! We want to thank Irvington Vinyl & Books and the owner, Elysia, for hosting this signing for our author.

Also, a huge shoutout to Savannah Goins, Alicia Grumley, and Cameron Steiman for setting up this book signing and release party for Michele Israel Harper.

And thank you to everyone who came out to support our author and her new book! You are the reason we publish these books, and we are so glad you’re enjoying them so much.

Below are a few photographs Cameron Steiman was so kind to take at the party (unfortunately, she isn’t in any of them), and we are so grateful to be able to share them with you. Enjoy!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and either bought or had a book signed. You rock!

We are so thankful for each one of you.

Happy Reading!

About the Book

Kill the Beast: Book One of the Beast Hunters

Ro remembers the castle as it was before. Before the gates closed. Before silence overtook the kingdom. Before the castle disappeared. Now it shimmers to life one night a year, seen by her alone.

Once a lady, now a huntress, Ro does what it takes to survive, just like the rest of the kingdom plunged into despair never before known.

But a beast has overtaken the castle; a beast that killed the prince and holds the castle and kingdom captive in his cruel power. A beast Ro has been hired to kill.

Thankful the mystery of the prince’s disappearance has been solved, furious the magical creature has killed her hero, Ro eagerly accepts the job to end him.

But things are not as they seem.

Trapped in the castle, a prisoner alongside the beast, Ro wonders what she should fear most: the beast, the magic that holds them both captive, or the one who hired her to kill the beast.

A Beauty and the Beast retelling.

We are thrilled to reveal the cover for our October release, Fairyeater by Pam Halter!

All fifteen-year-old Akeela has ever wanted is an ordinary family who will love her. But the only mother she has ever known is the old hag, Krezma, who berates her night and day. Why did the old woman even take her in?

But Krezma knows her charge is no ordinary child. She can see the auras surrounding living things and communicates with fairies. And the birthmark on her palm reveals a secret Krezma must hold close for the child’s safety.

A secret that the witch, Tzmet, hunts for night and day, drying and eating fairies for the power they contain. When Akeela discovers her fate lies in being the next Fairy Guardian, all hope for an ordinary life dissipates like the dreams they were. She must protect the fairies from the witch and an even darker power that threatens them all.

Akeela is unwillingly thrust into an adventure that throws her into the hands of friends, strangers, and enemies masquerading as allies, and it will not end until she decides to accept her fate and give up her dream.

Maybe even her life.

And now for the lovely cover:

Sara Helwe of Sara Helwe Digital Arts outdid herself with this lovely cover, and we are so thankful for Kim Sponaugle of Picture Kitchen Studio for her fairy illustrations.

Thank you for joining us for this cover reveal!

Happy Reading!

Did you know we are taking pitches at Realm Makers this year?

Michele Israel Harper, our acquisitions editor, will be traveling to this incredible writers conference to hear all about the wonderful stories you’ve written.

{Read about the conference here.}

What are we looking for?

  • A well-crafted tale, masterfully told
  • Light Sci-Fi
  • Fairy Tale Retellings
  • Any other genre with speculative elements
  • Adult, NA, or YA Audience
  • Completed manuscripts only

Honestly, we are not picky regarding content (as long as it’s fairly clean) if the tale grips us, sucks us right in to the story, and won’t let go until the last page has been read. We only publish speculative fiction (fantasy, sci-fi, or any other genre or subgenre with a fantastical element), and we are looking for a few good stories to fill our 2020 production schedule.

Story comes first, but we will also be looking at platform and how the author interacts with followers, as well as the author’s level of professionalism and dedication to growing in the craft.

What should you bring if you plan to pitch your manuscript to us?

  • Business card, headshot preferred

This should have basic information, such as your author name (whether actual name or pen name), contact info, such as your email, and a way to look you up online, such as your website. All of your social media should be linked to your website to make it easy to find you across all platforms, but if you only have a Facebook page or Twitter account, that’s fine too. Just make sure you’re easy to find online!

And be sure to include that headshot! We meet with hundreds of people every year at conferences and conventions, and we’d love to be able to put a face with your name as we go through submissions.

  • One Sheet

We prefer proposals to one sheets, but if you’re bringing one to conference anyway, go ahead and hand us your one sheet as well. This usually includes your headshot, contact info (email and website), short bio, and a synopsis of the story you are pitching–yes, on one sheet of paper. Be sure to mention if your tale is a standalone or part of a series. If you are pitching several stories, include one story per one sheet.

There are some excellent examples online, and Cara Putman especially has a wonderful resource for getting ready for conference, including one sheet examples.

{See it here.}

  • Proposal

Many authors bring a one sheet to conferences, but we prefer the proposal.

{See our submission guidelines here.}

Briefly, a proposal shows us your level of professionalism and how well you know your story, audience, platform, marketing strategies, and the business of publishing as a whole. Publishing is a partnership between the publisher and the author, and we want to know you know what you’re doing.

We love our authors, we love our readers, and we cannot wait to publish more of the stories you crave.

*UPDATE: Scott Minor of Realm Makers contacted Michele with her direct scheduling link, so we will include that here. As of Monday, July 2nd, there are only four spots left. She cannot wait to meet with you, and we cannot wait to discover more wonderful stories!

{Sign up for an appointment with Michele Israel Harper here.}

Happy writing!

A huge thank you to each person involved with Resilience’s release!

Without breaking out in song The Greatest Showman style (though we certainly feel like it), we are so pleased to show you the fourth cover in the Reluctant Warrior Chronicles by Amy Brock McNew.

But first, we’d like to answer a few questions you may have.

  • When does this beauty release?

Resilience: Book Three of the Reluctant Warrior Chronicles (Resistance is book 2.5, a novella) releases June 14, 2018, and preorders will be up soon.

  • Do I need to read the rest of this series before I start Resilience?

Absolutely. This series builds upon the struggles, temptations, and victories of Liz Brantley and Ryland Vaughn, while the novellas focus on supporting characters, delving deep into their own story world and hardships. We’re certain once you start the first book, you’ll fly through the rest!

  • Who designed your covers for this series?

We adore Sara Helwe Digital Arts and the fabulous covers she creates. She has brought Liz and Ryland and Nate and Ilona to life, and we cannot wait to see what she does for Mac and Andi!

  • May I see the new cover now?

Of course! But first, let’s learn a little about the author herself.

Amy Brock McNew doesn’t just write speculative fiction, she lives and breathes it. Exploring the strange, the supernatural, and the wonderfully weird, Amy pours her guts onto the pages she writes, honestly and brutally revealing herself in the process. Nothing is off-limits. Her favorite question is “what if?” and she believes fiction can be truer than our sheltered and controlled realities. Visit www.AmyBrockMcNew.com to learn more about this intriguing author.

  • Are you going to show me the cover already?

Sure! But don’t you want to know what the book’s about first?

  • Um, the cover? Please?

And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for…

*

*

*

It’s coming.

*

*

*

Wait for it…

*

*

*

It’s so worth it.

We give you Resilience by Amy Brock McNew.
